Dealing with Problem Installations
(cont.)
Water Entering Building
When dealing with the problem of water entry in a building, it is often difficult to
ascertain the water source, due to water tracking and capillary action.
The following checks relate to both Cooler faults and installation faults:
•
Check the Cooler's base and trough is not damaged.
•
Check the Cooler is installed level and the overflow pipe can function correctly.
•
Check the water distribution system is not blocked causing incorrect / excessive
water to pads or water tracking.
•
Check the operation of the filter pads and ensure there is no water lift off.
•
Check the flashing of the dropper duct, water supply pipe, electrical conduits and
drain pipes for leakage.
•
Check internal water pipe and drain pipe lines and fittings for leakage.
•
Check the roof (tiles etc.) for damage.
•
Check for any sign of water/moisture, on the inside of the ductwork and bell
housing.
•
Check the route of any water discharge from the Cooler i.e. roof guttering and
water run off area down stream of Cooler.
