TROUBLESHOOTING

Shanks not penetrating deep enough
Cylinder stop segments are limiting depth.
Remove cylinder stop segments.
Gangs limiting depth.
Raise gangs up.
Implement not level.
Level unit with drawbar turnbuckle.
Covering too much residue
Front gangs pitch set too aggressive.
Move front gangs rearward to a lesser pitch setting.
Front gangs set too deep.
Raise front gangs.
Rear gangs pitch set too aggressive.
Move rear gangs forward to a lesser pitch setting.
Rear gangs set too deep.
Raise rear gangs.
Shanks distrub too much surface ground.
Install optional steel point and wearstrip.
Traveling too fast.
Reduce ground speed.
Not enough residue being covered
Front gangs pitch set too passive.
Move front gangs forward to a greater pitch setting.
Front gangs set too shallow.
Lower front gangs.
Rear gangs pitch set too passive.
Move rear gangs rearward to a greater pitch setting.
Rear gangs set too shallow.
Lower rear gangs.
Shanks could distrub more surface ground.
Install optional coverboard on all shanks.
Note: Doing this will leave deeper ridges behind

Front gangs not throwing enough soil out.
Increase working depth and/or pitch of front gangs.
Rear gangs throwing too much soil in.
Decrease working depth and/or pitch of rear gangs.
Coverboard not installed on center shank.
Install coverboard on center shank to take out
ground not pulled out by front discs.
Depression being left behind center of unit
Front gangs throwing too much soil out.
Decrease working depth and/or pitch of front gangs.
Rear gangs not throwing enough soil in.
Increase working depth and/or pitch of rear gangs.
Coverboard on center shank is at improper
working height.
Reposition coverboard height.
Raise higher so that it will not make as deep of a
trench and move out as much ground.
May also try moving coverboard down so that the

the top of the coverboard.
