Regulator-Rectifier With Charge Indicator
Regulator-rectifier Part #493219, Fig. 24, is used by some
equipment manufacturers that have a charging indicator
light instead of an ammeter. In addition to the red DC output
wire, the regulator-rectifier is equipped with a blue wire
which is used to activate a charging indicator light when
battery voltage is below 12 volts.
The charging indicator light should light when the key
switch is in the ON position; engine not running. With
engine running, the charging indicator light should go out,
indicating that the charging circuit is operating, providing
that battery voltage is above 12 volts.
The charge indicator light and all wiring is supplied by the
equipment manufacturer. See typical wiring diagram,
page 13.
DC charging output values and test procedures are the
same as those listed for the 10 amp or 16 amp system.
