Using the StarLock Instrument Adapter
To enable computer-aided tracking of the impactor during
surgery, you must attach the
StarLock Instrument Adapter
.
Instructions on attaching the adapter are found in the chapter
“Instrument Adapter, StarLock Interface”.
CAUTION:
Before beginning navigation, make sure that the StarLock
Instrument Adapter is correctly attached to the impactor
and that the reflective marker spheres can be detected by
both camera lenses
.
WARNING:
All reflective marker spheres on the StarLock Instrument
Adapter must be visible to the camera while the
instrument is being navigated.

1 Press the ratchet release lever. The ratchet mechanism
releases automatically.
2 Unscrew the impactor tip completely from the implant by
turning the blue knob on the driveshaft counter-clockwise.
3 Pull the impactor out.
