GLOSSARY
Handset
Enables the user to talk with the entry panel
and release the door lock.
Default
This term is used to define any settings or
programming performed by the manufactu-
rer.
Flash (R)
When this button on the connected telepho-
ne is pressed, the interface stands by to
receive a command (and not a telephone
number) via the push-buttons.
Local line
Connection which enables communication
with the other users on the telephone
network.
Entry panel
Enables the visitor to call the occupant and
talk with him/her.
Where it features a camera, the images are
sent to the video entry handset in the home.
Telephone
Unit which normally enables telephone calls
to be made and received on the local line;
with the IT/200 switchboard, the telephone
can also be used as an audio entry hand-
set.
Decadic telephone
A telephone with a dial, through some push-
button phones are also decadic: the
telephone is decadic if you hear clicks in
the receiver whilst the number is being dial-
led.
Multifrequency telephone
Also known as MF or DTMF, this is the more
modern type of set.
A telephone is multifrequency if you hear
tones in the receiver whilst the number is
being dialled.
Video entry handset
Apart from the normal functions of the audio
entry handset, this enables the visitor cal-
ling from the entry panel to be seen on the
monitor.
