4.3
Engaging the brakes
The BoSS X-Series machine is fitted with two braking systems:
On the two fixed castors – these brakes are applied automatically
as the platform rises.
On the two swivel castors – these brakes are engaged by the use
of a foot pushing down on the lever as shown in the picture below.
To release, push the foot under the lever and flick upwards.
The swivel castors
MUST
be locked whenever the machine is
stationary whether or not it is in use.
4.4
Battery isolation switch
The BoSS X-Series machine
is fitted with a key operated
switch on the handset
controller. This switch is used
to isolate the battery, and
therefore the electrical system,
preventing unauthorised
use. To enable the electrical
system, insert the key and turn
clockwise, as shown in the
image on the right, ensuring
the red emergency stop button
is fully released.
Ensure that when the machine
is not in use, the emergency
stop button is depressed and
the key removed.
