Corresponding to the rated current, a fuse accord-
ing to IEC 60127 and/or UL 248-14 has to be connected
ahead of every solenoid coil (max. 3 x I
rated current
). The
shut-off threshold of the fuse has to match the prospec-
tive short-circuit current of the supply source. The pro-
spective short-circuit current of the supply source may
amount to a maximum of 1500 A.
This fuse may only be fitted outside the explosive area
or must be of an explosion-proof design.
The fuse can be accommodated in the related supply
unit or must be separately connected upstream.
For information on the recommended pre-fuse see "
Data
sheet, overcurrent fuse and cut-off voltage peak".
IMPORTANT
To ensure proper functioning, care must be taken that the
pressure chamber of the valve solenoid is always filled with
hydraulic fluid.
If due to the operating conditions to be expected during
the switching processes, flows have to be anticipated that
exceed the valve's performance limits that can be seen from
the characteristic curve, a throttle insert must be used in
channel P to limit the flow.
With a 4/2 directional seat valve with Plus-1 plate, the throt-
tle insert for limiting the flow does not have to be inserted
in port P at the valve body but rather in port P of the
Plus-1 plate.
If a check valve insert is to be used with a 4/2 directional
seat valve with Plus-1 plate, it doesn't have to be inserted
in port P at the valve body but rather in port P of the
Plus-1 plate.
In order to switch the valve safely and/or to keep it in its
spool position, the conditions
➢
T ≤ P – 40 bar
➢
T ≤ A – 40 bar
➢
and/or T ≤ B – 40 bar
regarding pressure in the respective ports have to be met.
With a 4/2 directional seat valve with Plus-1 plate, the mini-
mum pressure must be 8 bar and the minimum flow must
be 3 l/min.
Ports P, A, and T with a 3/2 directional seat valve and/or
P, A, B, and T with a 4/2 directional seat valve are clearly
assigned according to their function and must not be arbi-
trarily exchanged or closed. The flow is only permitted in the
direction of the arrow specified in the "
Data sheet".
Due to the inductive effect, switching off the valve solenoid
results in a voltage peak. The valve solenoid already con-
tains a suppression circuit dampening these voltage peaks.
However, additional external switching measures have to be
taken if required, in order to avoid connected electric circuits
being influenced by the residual voltage peak. The values
for the residual voltage peak depend on the valve solenoid
used, see the "
Data sheet".
5.2.5 Working safely at the valve
DANGER
Before carrying out any work at the valve, first make
sure that an explosive atmosphere cannot occur during
the time of the work.
