Checking and resurfacing holding
brakes using the software function
Checking the holding torque (M4) using the holding system check
command P-0-0541, C2100
1.
The drive controller checks the efficiency of the holding brake and its
applied state by starting the "P-0-0541, C2100 Holding system check
command" routine.
If the holding brake is all right, the drive is operational after the routine
was run. If the braking torque is too low, the drive controller outputs the
corresponding message.
The brake test can also be carried out cyclically within the scope
of preventive maintenance.
Restoring the holding torque (M4) using the software function
The following options are available:
1.
Carrying out the IndraDrive resurfacing routine "restoring the holding
torque" (see "P-0-0544, C3900 Command Holding brake resurfacing"). It
is possible to carry out this resurfacing routine multiple times.
Executing the command C3900 does not check whether the resurfacing
of the holding brake was successful. It is recommended to execute the
command C2100 (holding system check) again.
2.
Resurfacing routine using higher-level control. This requires special
control programs adjusted to the machine and system concepts. If
necessary, please contact your sales partner and discuss the
resurfacing routine parameters for your application.
For more detailed information on software functions refer to the Functional
Description "Rexroth IndraDrive Firmware for Drive Controllers MPx-xx,
DOK-INDRV*-MP*-xxVRS**-FKxx-EN-P."

●
Make sure that the product is only connected in a non-explosive
atmosphere and in its de-energized state.
●
Before working on the system, always use a suitable measuring device
(e.g., multimeter) to check whether parts are still under residual voltage
(e.g., due to the residual energies of capacitors in filters and drive
controllers etc.). Observe the discharge times.
●
Check the connection of the equipment grounding conductor and of the
bonding conductor.
To ensure safe operation, the products have to be grounded using the hybrid
cable and using the bonding conductor (see
chapter 1.13.2 "Connecting the
).
