HORIZONTAL USE
The height-securing device BOOT has also been
tested successfully for horizontal use and a re-
sulting simulated fall over the edge. An edge
radius r = 0.5 mm was used. Based on this test,
the height-securing device BOOT is suitable for
use on similar edges, for instance on rolled steel
profiles, wooden beams or rounded parapet
panels.
Regardless of this test, if the device is used hori-
zontally or at an incline where there is a risk of
falling over an edge, the following information
must always be taken into account.
ATTENTION:
If the height-securing device is used on an an-
chor element of type C acc. to DIN EN 795 with
a horizontal flexible anchor line, the swivel
range of the anchor equipment also needs to
be taken into account when determining the
clear height below the user. Observe the infor-
mation in the User manual of the attachment
equipment here.
Carry out a risk assessment:
• Is the fall edge > 0.5 mm?
• Is the edge burr-free?
If this is not the case, precautions should be
taken:
• Use a retention system to rule out a fall.
• Attach a suitable edge protection.
ATTENTION:
If used on slanted levels, note that the brake
function may be delayed.
