Preventing damage to the appliance
The surface is heat-proof (up to 650 °C) and can withstand temperature
fluctuations. Within limits, the appliance is scratch-proof and resistant to
impact. We nevertheless recommend observing the instructions below to
prevent damage.

Do not stand on the appliance.
■
Impacts by objects such as salt sellers, etc. can damage the surface of the
cooktop. Do not store objects above the appliance.
■
Do not operate the appliance for prolonged periods with empty pots of pans.
■
Before placing a saucepan or frying pan on the cooking zones, ensure that its
base is clean and dry.
■
Do not use the appliance surface to peel or cut vegetables or fruit. Fine dirt
particles and hard utensils can damage the surface of the appliance.
■
Do not use the cooktop as a storage surface. Never place any flammable
materials such as cardboard or plastic packaging on the cooktop.
■
Avoid spilling sugary food or fruit juices onto the hot glass-ceramic surface.
These substances can damage the surface
. If sugary food or fruit juice is
spilled onto the hot glass-ceramic surface, immediately remove it with a
scraper (while still hot).
■
When using pressure cookers, constantly monitor the pressure build-up. First
operate the cooktop at the highest flame and then turn it back to a lower flame.
■
Avoid boiling over of food.
■
Do not use the appliance if it is defective.
■
If you suspect a fault or defect, disconnect the appliance from the electric
power supply and close the gas tap.
■
In the event of a fault or defect, first switch off the electric power supply to the
appliance and close the gas tap before contacting a repair workshop
authorised by BORA Lüftungstechnik GmbH.
■
Never leave the gas hob on without pot or pan.
■
If a gas knob cannot be turned, do not use force. Immediately contact a repair
workshop authorised by BORA Lüftungstechnik GmbH.
■
Do not use your hob to cook food in aluminium foil or plastic containers as
these materials melt.
■
When cleaning the cooktop, ensure that no water penetrates the inside of the
appliance. Use only a moist cloth. Do not splash the appliance with water or
clean it with a steam cleaner. Penetrating water can damage the appliance!
