BOGE Operating instructions for C 15 series screw compressors
Drive motors with
permanent lubrication
As a rule, the bearings of the drive motors are provided with a maintenance
free
permanent lubrication
.
Under normal operating conditions (refrigerant temperature max. 104°F, con-
tinous operation) the bearings are maintenance free for the service life.
The service life decreases or increases as thermal stress increases or de-
creases (due to increased or reduced refrigerant temperature).
Changing the V-belt
Check:
–
1x per year for damages.
Change:
–
In case of visible damages.
Switch off the compressor using the OFF button.
Changing the V-belt:
–
Open safety sound insulation hood.
–
Turn adusting nut (1) upwards. The two bushings inside the spring must
touch.
–
Pull slackened belts from the pulley.
–
Fit new V-belts.
–
Turn adjusting screw (1) downwards as far as possible. The V-belts are
tensioned automatically by means of the BOGE GM drive system.
–
Remount safety sound insulation hood.
WARNING!
Have BOGE service dismantle the bearings and install new bearings once
the specified service life has expired (see „Maintenance intervals”, page 47).
NOTICE!
The BOGE GM drive system automatically adjusts the belt drive in every
operating status to the correct tensioning.
Thus maintenance of the belt drive is reduced to the tasks mentioned above.
WARNING: Risk of injury!
Prior to any maintenance and servicing work take all necessary safety pre-
cautions described on page 44!
Let the compressor cool down. Otherwise you can burn yourself when touch-
ing the approx. 170 – 195°F hot cooler.
