running the motorcycle on ra-
cing slicks.
When SLICK mode is selected:
Note that ABS control for the
rear wheel is restricted (see the
section entitled "Engineering
details").
With the motorcycle at a stand-
still, the mode you select is ac-
tivated after approximately ten
seconds.
The newly selected riding
mode is activated as you
ride only when the following
preconditions are satisfied:
Brake not applied
Throttle twistgrip in fully closed
position
Clutch pulled
Once the new ride mode has
been activated, the selection
menu disappears from the
display.
The mode selected in this way
is retained with the engine-
characteristic, ABS and DTC adaptation settings even after
the ignition has been switched
off.
Installing coding plug
Switch off the ignition.
with power reduction

WARNING
On a vehicle with power re-
duction, once the coding
plug has been inserted more
engine power is available in
the SPORT and RACE riding
modes.
Risk of accident
It is important for the rider in-
tending to use these more
sporty ride modes to familiar-
ise himself/herself with their
characteristics.
ATTENTION
Riding on public roads
with coding plug inserted,
vehicles with power
reduction.
Risk of accident. Voiding of ho-
mologation for riding on public
roads.
Do not use the coding plug
for riding a vehicle with power
reduction on public roads.
Switch off the ignition.
Remove the front seat ( 58).
ATTENTION
Dirt and damp penetrating
inside open connectors.
