Diverter Valve

Check position of lever.

Is lever to rear (non heat mode) of truck?

Yes / No

Check for sufficient vacuum to actuator.

Remove both vacuum lines from diverter

solenoid and connect together. Start truck.

Does lever on diverter valve

move forward (heat mode)?

Yes / No

Clean or replace the

breather stone.

Turn off truck. Manually move

lever toward front position.

Does lever move freely?

Check for voltage at

solenoid (12V min.).

Is voltage present?

Yes / No

Remove the breather stone from

the top of the diverter solenoid.

Does the lever move to the rear

(non heat mode) of the truck?

Repair or replace

as required.

Replace diverter

solenoid.

Replace diverter

solenoid.

Replace Vacuum

Actuator.

Remove cover on diverter valve to

determine cause of lever not moving.
