9. Conversion tool to create a compliant TS file
The option "Media player" gives an opportunity to install a TS file from a via network connected PC to the module. The
file must have a DVB standard conform format.
BLANKOM
affords a conversion program which generates a compliant
file from a large number of video file formats. Following this, the converted file can be fed-in as an additional channel.
9.1 Range of functions
„
VideoKonverter.jar
“ converts the video files into the required transport stream format. The program makes sure that
the resulting file has a constant bitrate, correct video and audio bitrates and that the TS meta data are configurable as
requested. Available are resolutions SD, HD 720 or HD 1080.
„
tsmux.exe
“ optimizes the generated transport stream so that the player is able to run compressed null packages.
„
FFmpeg
“ generates the transport stream. It is based on a buffer model that is different from the player.
Therefore “tsmux.exe“ arranges the packets in the transport stream so that continue-count-errors that are caused by the
wrong buffer model can be suppressed.
9.2 Installation requirements
The conversion program consists of two components: the platform-independent“VideoKonverter.jar“ and the Windows
application“tsmux.exe“. For the installation of the program requires the following:
1. Check the installed version of Java
Establish an internet connection to the PC and call up the following link (free dowload):
http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp
Update your software, if necessary. Alternatively, test the Java version without an internet connection using command
prompt:
Open the command prompt and type
java-version
followed by
<Enter>.
Result is either an error message if Java is not installed or the version information of the existing Java installation.
2. Install the software“FFmpeg“ to run the program
To run the conversion tool, you need to download and install the free“FFmpeg“ software, according to your system
software (32 bit version recommended):

An installation of FFmpeg as a self-running process is not required. The downloaded, packed files must be extracted in a
freely chosen target path. Later, this path is used in the “VideoKonverter“ software as an auxiliary path.
3. Preview of the video file
BLANKOM
recommendates the VLC player to preview your chosen video file. This player can handle many of the popluar
video formats.
