equals 128 or if an attempted V.42
connection fails. These fallback options
are initiated immediately upon connection
if S48 = 128.
S36=0 Modem disconnects.
S36=1 Modem stays on-line and a direct mode
connection is established.
S36=2 Reserved.
S36=3 Modem stays on-line and a normal mode
connection is established.
S36=4 An MNP connection is attempted. If this
connection fails, the modem then disconnects.
S36=5 An MNP connection is attempted. If this
connection fails, a direct mode connection is
established.
S36=6 Reserved.
S36=7 An MNP connection is attempted. If this
connection fails, a normal mode connection is
