Solvent Recommendations

Solvent Recommendations

The maximum operating temperature of the detector and the boiling 

point of the solvent will determine the type of solvents compatible 

with ELSD-A120. High boiling point solvents such as

•

N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP),

•

Dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO),

•

meta-Cresol (m-Methylphenol) and

•

1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene (TCB)

are not recommended. Greater care and attention to detector cleaning 

procedures should be exercised with these solvents. It is 

recommended that any solvent be flushed from the detector for 

overnight and weekend storage.
