Medical Devices – Application of risk management to medical 

devices. Classification according to IEC/EN 60601-1 paragraph 5:

• Internally-powered equipment

• IPXO

• Equipment not suitable for use in the presence of an 

anaesthetic mixture flammable with air or oxygen or nitrous oxide.

• Continuous operation

Clean the device and wrist cuff carefully with a

slightly damp cloth.

2.

Do not put the device in water. Damage could

occur if water gets into the device.

3.

 Do not use gas, powerful detergent, or solvents to 

clean the device, including the wrist cuff. 

4.

 Use a soft dry cloth to clean your blood pressure 

monitor. 

5.

 . Do not store in direct sunlight, dust, or excessive 

humidity. 

6.

 Avoid extreme temperatures. 

7.

Do not dismantle the blood pressure monitor or

the cuff.

8.

 Remove the batteries if the blood pressure monitor 

is not being used for a prolonged period of time.
