Using the base unit’s speakerphone
You can use the base unit as a speakerphone.
While you’re connected on a speakerphone call, the
SPEAKERPHONE light on the base unit is on.

Speakerphone calls using the base unit are ‘one way
at a time’ — while the other person is talking, s/he
can’t hear you. So try not to interrupt each other.
To make a
call

Press the
SPEAKERPHONE
button on the
base unit to get Dial tone

Key in the phone number on the base unit’s
keypad
Or press the base unit’s
Last Number
Redial
button to make a repeat call to the
last number you dialled on the base unit
To answer a
call
When the phone rings, to answer it using the
base unit’s speakerphone:

SPEAKERPHONE
button on the
base unit
To end a
speakerphone
call
If you’re talking through the base unit’s
speakerphone, to end the call:

SPEAKERPHONE
button on the
base unit
To adjust the
volume
To adjust the volume of the loudspeaker:

Press the
VOLUME –
or
+
buttons on the
base unit
There are four volume levels altogether.

To transfer a
speakerphone
call to the
handset
If you’ve answered a call using the base unit’s
speakerphone, you can switch it over to the
handset for a private conversation, as follows:

Press the
HANDSET LOCATOR
button on
the base unit
The call is put on hold and the IN USE/CHARGE
light flashes. (Note: the handset does not ring
at this point.)

Press the
PHONE
button on the handset to
pick up the call
