NOTE : If the unit is opened, it will be necessary to use the extender cable included in the accessory
kit.
A.
UNIT FAILS TO OPERATE WITH END SWITCH ROTATION.
(1) Battery cannot supply the motor current - new battery required.
(2) Motor fuse has blown - check the 1.5 amp Slo-Blo fuse situated on the battery lower
end plate. Check that the limit switches are not faulty.
(3) Faulty microswitch or faulty mechanical actuation of microswitch.
B.
UNIT WILL NOT TRANSMIT SINGLE OR MULTIPLE PULSES.
(1) Is the selected interrogate frequency correct for the unit?
(2) Is the end cap switch set to ARMED?
(3) Is the Enable Board timed out? See Section 6.3.1.
C.
UNIT WILL TRANSMIT, BUT WILL NOT RELEASE.
(1) Check that manual release operates (end plate switch). If not, then check battery
voltage and microswitches.
(2) Check that the switch is left in the ARMED position.
(3) Recheck that the deck unit TRANSMIT SELECT switch and the COMMAND
SELECT switch are set correctly for release with this transponder.
(4) Reposition the deck unit transducer and try again.
(5) If there is still difficulty, open the housing and expose the P.C. boards. Replace the
board set to repair any electrical board problems. Return the faulty boardset to
Benthos for repair.
