Connecting Wires
NOTE
Unless otherwise specified, wiring methods must be in accordance with the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.
1. Prior to connecting the wires, remove the plastic shield protecting the
connectors.
2. Use the wiring guidelines from the torque label for proper wiring selection.
The torque label is located on the back panel inside the combiner.
3. Use torque guidelines from the torque label to torque the components to
proper specifications.
4. After conductors have been tightened to the proper torque, mark the nuts
with a permanent ink marker or torque seal.
shows an example of
marking.

NOTE
Use of a corrosion inhibitor is recommended at the point of connection
between conductors and terminals. This ensures reliability over the lifetime
of the equipment.
WARNING
WARNING
Failure to perform regularly scheduled maintenance may result in catastrophic
failure of the unit. Due to the inherent expansion and contraction of metals when
subjected to temperature changes, all components should be checked for
proper torque on a scheduled basis.
