Preventing unintended erasure of a DVD+RW Disc
To prevent a recording from being accidentally erased, you can set the DVD Recorder to
protect the entire disc from further recording. This is useful as it can be undone at a later time
for further recording, (which cannot be done if a disc has been finalized). See "Finalizing a
DVD+R Disc" on page 58 for details of finalizing discs.
How to protect a disc:
1. Load the disc you want to protect into the DVD Recorder.
2. Press the
Play list/menu
button to display the disc content menu.
3. Press the
Edit
button to display the ’Edit’ menu on-screen.
4. Press the
Up
or
Down
button to highlight ’
Protect Disc
’, and the press the
OK
button to confirm.
If you attempt to record on this disc, the message ’
Disc protected
’ will display on-screen.
How to unprotect a disc:
When you wish to record onto the disc again, repeat the above steps, but select ’
Unprotect Disc
’
in Step 4.
