Waste management:
- Throw all packaging in the recycling containers provided for this.
- Once a piece of equipment has completely stopped working, find out about the relevant recycling regulations from your
nearest recycling centre or from your dealer.
- Make sure you follow the relevant local laws when you scrap it.
- Some onboard equipment can have a toxic effect on the environment and on human health, caused by the specific
substances they contain: Do not throw any equipment in household waste containers and absolutely not in the sea.
- Dead batteries are toxic to health and to the environment. So, batteries must not be put in with household waste, but
must be recycled separately. Contact the harbour master or a specialist company about recycling them.
- Make sure you know the local enviromental
regulations and follow the codes of best
practice.
- Do not pump out the toilets or the contents
of the black water tank near the coast or in areas
where it's forbidden. Use the pump-out facilities
available in ports or marinas to empty the
contents of the black water tank before leaving
port.
- Make sure you know the international
regulations to prevent pollution in the marine
environment (Convention MARPOL) and follow
these as much as possible.
