6.2 Commissioning flow chart with insulation fault location
Install the insulation fault locator
and the appropriate CTs
Connect the RS-485 interface
(BMS bus) of the EDS with the
iso1685DP
Make sure that the system is
disconnected from any electrical
source before connecting the device!
Adress all BMS components.
Set adress 1 for the 1685DP
(Master)
Connect supply voltage
Connect system voltage
iso1685DP successfully
carries out a self test
Function test with a suitable
resistance between system and
earth. Value: 50% of the response
value Ran2
Alarm LEDs activated?
Alarm relays switched?
yes
no
Set the EDS mode of the iso1685DP
to „auto“ via the BMS bus or the display
Press the test button of the EDS
Is the faulty subcircuit being
recognised correctly?
yes
Shall other connected
CTs be tested?
Are all CTs recognised correctly
by the EDS

Check the CT wiring

Remove the resistance and select
another location downstream a
measuring transformer where the
insulation fault is to be simulated.
LED "PGH on" of the iso1685DP
is flashing. Insulation fault
location is activated
