Examine the top and bottom surfaces of the horizontal

stabilizer for cracks in the area adjacent to the stabilizer
support. (T1/T2)

Chapter 53

12.

Inspect horizontal stabilizer center area as follows:

Remove upper support assembly. Save attaching

hardware.

Clean upper surface of stabilizer.

NOTE

Surface must be free of all dirt and residue.

With bright light, inspect upper surface for any cracks,

corrosion or working rivets.

If no cracks, corrosion or working rivets are located,

install support assembly.

Remove lower support assembly. Save attaching

hardware.

Clean lower surface of stabilizer.

With bright light, inspect lower surface for any cracks,

corrosion or working rivets.

If no cracks, corrosion or working rivets are located,

install support assembly.

13.

Examine the tail rotor guard and the tail skid for damage.

Make sure they are correctly attached. (T1/T2)
