Installation
If you use a cordless handset such as the Forum Free 566 /576 /
586, this can also be contacted by other base stations using the
GAP/CAP standard.
a/b Ports
The a/b ports a/b1 to a/b4 can be used for connecting analogue
terminals. These can be for voice or data communication, and use
DTMF dialling, e.g.
z
analogue telephones
z
class 3 fax machines
z
analogue modems (external or internal)
z
external devices for music on hold
z
external voice mail systems.
Please note:
Adhere to the following notes and recommenda-
tions regarding the connection of analogue devices. Devices not
meeting the technical requirements of the Forum 525/526 can
cause damage to it.
Analogue Telephones
Only analogue telephones supporting tone dialling (VF signalling)
can be operated on the Forum 525/526.
Modems
The maximum transmission rate for analogue modems is
33.6 kbit/s (V.34+).
Music on Hold
If you do not operate an external MoH device, the Forum 525/526
offers an internal MoH, which you can load in the Web console
Configurator
in the
System: Components
menu. For details,
refer to the online Help.
Please note:
Use only devices with an input impedance of
600 ohms, floating connection, for external music on hold. Incor-
rect input impedance can cause irreparable damage to the
Forum 525/526.
