3 Setting Up
䊳
Use a duplex fiber-optic cable with BFOC/2.5 (ST
®
)
connectors to connect the individual repeaters.
䊳
Pay attention to the maximum cable length of the
fiber-optic cables as well as the possible types of
fibers specified in the Technical Data.
䊳
Make sure that each optical input
a
is connected to
an optical output
J
at the opposite end (”cross-over
connection“).
The corresponding BFOC sockets of the two ports are
marked on the lower front panel.
䊳
Ensure that sufficient strain relief is provided for the
fiber-optic cables and pay attention to their minimum
bending radii.
䊳
Unused BFOC sockets must be sealed with the sup-
plied protective caps. Incident ambient light and, in
particular, excessively high ambient brightness can
affect the network.
The penetration of dust may impair operation of the
optical components.
