Electrical Connections: Motor Plate Utilities
The driver side and passenger side DuoScrubbers® HP each have two 1/2 HP 3-Phase motors that
come prewired for either 208/230 VAC or 575 VAC. If the site has 480 VAC or another alternative
voltage the motors must be re-wired. One of the stickers, shown below, will be applied to the
Electrical Junction Box to specify which VAC the DuoScrubbers® HP motors were wired for.
On the DuoScrubbers® HP, the motor wires have been wrapped together and routed through a
sleeve on the Tie Rod to the Utility Plate. From there, the motor wires have been routed into the
Junction Box through the cord grips where they are ready to be connected to the main power
source.
Connecting Motors to Main Power
1) Run the main power line out to the DuoScrubbers® HP; make the wire connections to the
motor wires inside the Junction Box.
2) When everything is wired properly, close and seal the Junction Box be cautious to not crimp
down on any of the wires.
3) Test to see if the DuoScrubbers® HP are functioning properly by using the Controller to turn
on each of the DuoScrubbers®.
Note:
Be sure to follow local electrical codes when choosing wiring materials and when routing
electrical wires.
Note:
The electrical connections are made with either heat shrink butt splices or dielectric grease
wire nuts.
Note:
Make sure electrical box penetrations are made with an approved method for wet
conditions. A proper cord grip should be used and installed correctly and a drip loop on
incoming cables is recommended to avoid any water intrusion.
