Field spread pattern
The amount of material distributed by the pendular spreaders will always be greater
directly behind the unit and will gradually decrease farther away from the spreader. To
obtain a uniform spread throughout the field, the operator will need to maintain parallel
travel patterns on the field making sure to maintain a distance from the previous pass
that is equal to ½ of the total spreading width
(see fig. 9)
.
When spreading over a field, position the tractor in a corner at a distance equal to ½ of
the total spread width away from the edge of the field. Spread first around the perimeter
of the field. After covering the perimeter, drive the tractor in parallel patterns up and
down the field at a distance equal to ½ of the total spread width from the previous pass
until the field has been completely covered
(see fig. 10)

Band spreading
Spreading in bands is when the spreader only distributes material off to the sides and
none in the middle. By unscrewing the spread deflector from the end of the spout, the
