The sealing ring
•
Remove all dirt thoroughly.
•
Dry the ring.
•
Replace the ring in its correct position in the lid.
•
Regularly replace the sealing ring with a new one (every one to two years, depending
on frequency of use, or as soon as signs of wear and tear become apparent) in order
to ensure that the cooker works properly. Pay special attention if the sealing ring
becomes rough, cracked, discoloured, deformed or hard.
•
Never put the sealing ring in the dishwasher. This makes the material rough.
3.
Control valve and safety valve
•
The control valve and safety valve should be thoroughly cleaned after each use by
holding them under running water. Ensure that the holes in the control valve
fastening nut are always clean and unblocked. Also check that the safety valve is
clean, and that the ventilation pipe and pressure nut can move easily. To do this,
press the release button of the safety valve, which is on the underside of the lid (13).
Remove dried-in food remains with a small needle if necessary.
•
If you are not able to remove the remains from the control or safety valve, contact
qualified service personnel or the manufacturer directly.

Special cleaning and care instructions
•
Regularly rub the sealing ring with cooking oil in order to extend its lifespan.
•
Do not lock the lid when storing the cooker. Simply place it upside down on top of the
pot in order to protect the sealing ring.
•
Defrost food before preparing it in the pressure cooker.
•
When preparing foods that expands a lot, let it simmer for a while without the lid first.
•
Please also note that liquid evaporates after extended cooking, even in a pressure
cooker. You should therefore always ensure that there is a sufficient amount of liquid
in the pot.
•
Remove the pressure cooker immediately from the stove if its contents spill over.
•
Check all parts if they haven’t been used for a longer period of time. If any parts are
obviously deformed, replace them.
•
Only use original spare parts from the manufacturer.

General tips for energy saving cooking
•
You can save as much as 10 percent energy when using the right amount of water.
Vegetables and potatoes, for example, should only be just covered with water.
•
Choose the right hotplate size for the pot. The pressure cooker should not be smaller
than the hotplate. Otherwise you need between 10 and 15 percent more energy than
necessary.
•
Adjust the heat to a lower setting as soon as the contents start cooking.
•
Use the remaining heat to cook free of charge, and switch off the hotplate a few
minutes before the end of the regular cooking time.
