age or attempted repairs. The same
applies to normal wear and tear and to
fat deposits and discolourations on the
device and accessories.

Before Initial Use

1.  Check the items supplied for com-

pleteness and possible transport
damage (see the “Items Supplied”
chapter). If the device is damaged,
do not use it but contact our customer
service department.

2.  Remove any possible

fi

 lms, stickers or

transport protection from the device.

Never remove the rating plate!

3.  Rinse the grill rack (

5

), the grill tray (

7

and the drip tray (

6

) thoroughly to

remove any possible production
residues. Follow the instructions in the
"Cleaning and Storage" chapter to do
this.

The rack frame (

2

) can be re-

moved from the grill chamber (

10

).

To do this, it must be lifted slightly
at the back as it is held in position
by a hook at the bottom. When
reinserting it, slide the rack frame
behind the hook.

Setting Up and Connecting
the Grill

1.  Place the grill (

1

) on a stable and

heat-resistant

work surface. Ensure

that there is suf

fi

 cient clear space at

all sides, especially towards the grill
chamber (

10

).

2.  Completely unwind the mains cable

and plug the mains plug into a plug
socket.

3.  Make sure that the rack frame (

2

fi

 ts

stably in the grill chamber. The bottom
cross bar of the rack frame must be
located behind the hook (

11

) in the grill

chamber.

Grilling

The heating element (

9

) of the grill may

produce a temperature of approx. 850°C.
This extreme heat causes the

fi

 bres on

the surface of the meat to contract imme-
diately, thus forming a crispy crust in next-
to-no-time. By contrast, the inside of the
piece of meat remains almost pristine and
juicy. The top heat means that the meat
juice which drips down does not burn and
can be used as stock for sauces.
Although the grill was developed for pre-
paring steaks, it is also extremely suitable
for grilling tuna, salmon, seafood and
vegetables or for caramelising desserts
such as crème brûlée or candied fruit.
Just give it a try! There are no limits to
your imagination.

Before you prepare the meat, it
should be at room temperature in
order to ensure good and even
cooking.
The cooking time depends on the
thickness, quality, maturity and
temperature of the meat at the
start of the grilling process. Until
you are properly familiar with the
device, the condition of the meat
should be checked in between
times.

PLEASE NOTE!

CAUTION – Danger of Burns!

The

accessory gets extremely hot in
the device. Use kitchen gloves! It is
essential that you use the handle to
remove the grill rack!

Only ever place down the hot acces-
sory on a heat-resistant surface.

Do not place any cooking vessels oth-
er than the grill tray in the device.

Do not place food that is wrapped in
cling

fi

lm or in plastic bags in the grill.
