3–11

Removal of the Cooper Control

Refer to Figure 3-10, below.

1. Open the cabinet door of Cooper control.

2. Turn the doorknob on the control panel and

swing the panel outward. To de-energize the
control, open the VT disconnect switch and
put the CT switch in the shorting position.

Be sure that the CT in the regulator has been
shorted.

3. Loosen the screws on the spreader bar

terminal block at the bottom of the cabinet
and pull down on the spreader bar to
disconnect it.

4. Remove and save the two hinge pins and

lift the panel off the hinges.

NOTE: The two hinge pins must be saved from

the original control.
