Installing the Model 8000 Remote Access Concentrator
Setup Mode
Enter Setup mode by pressing the Reset button located on the front panel.
Press this button within 30 seconds of resetting or turning on the device.
Setup Mode Error-Free Sequence
Table 4-4 summarizes the LED sequences that display in Setup mode
during an error-free startup. A description of each sequence follows
Table 4-4 .

Activity T1: Testing
LEDs All front-panel LEDs (and the Link LED on the rear panel) light for a
few seconds, then all but the TRAF LED turn off. This sequence confirms
that all LEDs are operational. At this point, the RAC is in Normal mode.
Press the Reset button to put the RAC into ROM monitor mode.
Activity T2: Testing
the Hardware During the power-up sequence, the RAC runs self-tests that execute
diagnostics for the CPU, ROM, EEPROM, flash, and so on. The TRAF
LED flashes during the tests. After the power-up self-tests finish, the
STAT and TRAF LEDs remain on.
