1. Turn off the domestic cold water inlet.
2. To drain the domestic hot water tank: open a hot water tap and then
open the valve on the safety unit.
3. Remove the front cover from the inspection hatch.
4. Remove the insulation from the inspection hatch.
5. Take out the domestic hot water sensor.
6. Take out the safety thermostat bulb.
7. Unscrew the earth wire on the inspection hatch.
8. Disconnect the immersion heater terminals on the safety thermostat.
9. Disconnect the terminal on the magnesium anode.
10. Remove the inspection hatch (13-mm spanner).
11. Remove the limescale deposited in the tank in the form of sludge or
strips.
12. Then replace all the parts in reverse order.
Important
Each time it is opened, the lip gasket must be replaced to
guarantee tightness.
Place the positioning lug on the gasket towards the outside of
the domestic hot water tank.
13. After each intervention, ensure that the installation is watertight.
Important
The screws retaining the inspection hatch must be disposed in a
star configuration and tightened to 6 Nm +1/-0.
Use a torque wrench.
10.3 Accessing the bottom inspection trap
Important
Have a new lip gasket and a new retainer ring on hand for the
inspection hatch.
1. Disconnect the power supply, and the water and refrigerant
connections.
2. Drain the domestic hot water tank.
3. Open a hot water tap.
4. Open the valve on the safety unit.
5. Set the appliance to the repair position.
6. Remove the inspection hatch.
7. Check the extent of scaling in the tank and on the exchanger.
Leave the limescale on the walls of the tank: it provides effective
protection against corrosion and enhances the insulation of the
domestic hot water tank.
Remove limescale deposits from the bottom of the tank.
Remove limescale deposits from the exchanger to guarantee its
performance.
8. Remount the unit.
Important
Each time it is opened, the lip gasket must be replaced to
guarantee tightness.
Place the positioning lug on the gasket towards the outside of
the domestic hot water tank.
9. After reassembly, check the tightness of the lower flange.
Important
The screws retaining the inspection hatch must be disposed in a
star configuration and tightened to 6 Nm +1/-0.
Use a torque wrench.
