Mode of operation
The PosCon OXE7 edge sensor operates based
on the laser triangulation principle. By means of
special optics, a laser beam is enlarged into a line
and projected to the surface of the object to be
measured. Using the multi-lens system, the
reflected light from this laser line is projected onto
a matrix. A controller calculates from this matrix
image the precise position e.g. of the beginning or
end of an object (i.e. of an edge) along the laser
line. Thanks to the new Baumer qFlex technology,
the position of the edge is output irrespectively of
the distance between the sensor and the object to
be measured. The sync input on PosCon OXE7
enables synchronization of measurement data
with an object movement.
