INTRODUCTION
LOCKER and LOCKER BiDi gate valves by Battioni Pagani
®
were designed and built in compliance with EU
standards with regard to safety and have been object of risk assessments according to standard UNI EN ISO
12100:2010; in particular, they comply with directive 2006/42/EC and subsequent amendments and additions.
LOCKER and LOCKER BiDi gate valves are in compliance with pressure equipment directive 97/23/EC and
subsequent amendments and additions.
The LOCKER
and LOCKER BiDi gate valves in question are pursuant to the definition of machinery directive
2006/42/EC as a machine and therefore carries the CE marking on the identification plate. However, it should
be pointed out that with regard to its use and to the purpose of provision that provides for installation borne by
the purchaser (without the power drive system), Battioni Pagani

declines all responsibility for failing to comply
with the instructions detailed in the use and maintenance manual.
This manual contains the CE Declaration of conformity and all the necessary instructions for users and plant
manufacturers to use our products safely. Therefore, the manual must always be kept next to the Gate Valve. You
are required to read the instructions contained in this manual carefully before proceeding with any operations
with the LOCKER and LOCKER BiDi gate valve.
This symbol of danger in the manual means that important instructions have been given with regard to
safety. The operator is the first recipient of this information, and he is responsible to comply with the said
information, not only on his behalf, but also on behalf of other people exposed to risks related to use.
Risk of damage and/or bad operation; follow the relative instructions carefully.
Instructions and recommendations for use.
This manual was prepared by the manufacturer in the best way possible. However, the manufacturer can

not guarantee absolute entirety of information and thus is not responsible for any mistakes or imperfec-
tions. The purchaser/user is always personally obliged to check the information and to take different and/
or additional safety measures.
The manufacturer reserves the right to make any type of changes at any time.
WARRANTY
Upon receipt, check that the Locker gate valve is complete in all its parts.
Any anomalies or missing parts must be submitted within 8 days from the said receipt.
The Manufacturing company guarantees that the goods sold are free from faults and undertakes, only where the
faults are clearly attributed to manufacturing processes and materials used, to repair or, at its unquestionable dis-
cretion, to replace the defective parts. However, labour, travelling, transport, and any customs expenses shall be
entirely borne by the Customer. The seller is not obliged to pay for damages unless in case of wilful or serious
negligence. The parts subject to normal wear are excluded from the warranty.
Any warranty shall cease in the event that:
•
the defects complained about derive from accidents or evident carelessness or negligence by the Customer,
•
the parts have been modified, repaired or assembled by people not authorised by the seller,
•
the faults and breakages were caused by non-adequate use or for having undergone greater stress than that es-
tablished by the seller.
•
when the Customer has failed to punctually comply with the contractual payment obligations.
The Customer forfeits the right to the warranty if he fails to report the defects to the seller within 8 days from
discovery, in derogation of Art. 1512 of the Italian Civil Code. The seller reserves the right to change or improve
his products without being obliged to make the said changes or improvements to the units that have already been
produced and/or delivered. The seller is not responsible for accidents, or the effects of accidents, caused to people
or things due to material and/or manufacturer defects.
