8. Wearing the chest strap
Unclip the chest strap (if applicable).
To fasten the chest strap, insert the clip on the rubber band into the corresponding opening on
the sensor. Ensure that it clicks into place.
The chest strap must be worn as shown in the diagram above. Adjust the length so that it will not
move, but it should not impair breathing or blood circulation.
Place the chest strap on your chest, ensuring that the logo points outwards and sits directly
over your breastbone. The two contact strips on the sensor (the two elliptical rubber surfaces)
must be in complete contact with your skin. There should be no objects between the contacts
and your skin.
If necessary, dampen the contacts slightly with water or electrolode gel for better conductivity.
This will improve pulse recognition.
As with all materials that come into direct contact with your skin, you may experience skin
irritation or other allergic reactions (e.g. redness or rashes). If so, discontinue use immediately.
Wash the affected area with lukewarm water and warm soap and consult a physician.
Regularly clean the contacts and chest strap using a slightly damp cloth (use lukewarm water).
Once you have finished cleaning the strap, carefully wipe it dry.
The wireless transmission of the heart rate signal may be impaired by mobile
phones, electrical training devices, wireless bicycle computers, high-voltage
cables and wireless products.
