5.3 

Introduction of a new printing string (filament)  

 

Extruder: this is the part of the equipment where the plastic is melted. The filament is pushed in by 
the motor, the drive and the pressure feed gear. This system is called a "Direct-Dual drive". The 
extruder is designed for filaments with a diameter of 1.75 mm.

 to extend the filament, press

After pressing either 

"IN"

"OUT"

, the nozzle will start heating automatically. When the temperature 

is reached, you will be asked to confirm.

"IN" - insertion 

- Insert the string spool into the holder and insert the filament into the hole (see figure 

at top left). Hold the filament stopped on the feed wheels, confirm the

 "Confirm" 

prompt. After 

confirmation, hold the filament until the wheels start to pull it down and the door opens slightly. 

Note: if you are loading an already used filament, 

always cut the melted beginning

, otherwise the filament may 

not be inserted correctly! If you are introducing a new one, just make sure the start is straight. If necessary, cut off 
the deformed part. 

"OUT" - pull out

 - hold the filament, confirm the prompt "Confirm", the filament will be ejected from the 

extruder. 

 

At the end of this process, the nozzle will still remain in heating mode and must be switched off:
