On the Wi-Fi + 3G model, the settings summary has a second page. The second page displays
device information that you will not need to refer to, but that might be useful for Customer Service.

The following are all of the settings:

Airplane mode
Off (default): The radio is on. Wi-Fi connections work,
unless Wi-Fi is turned off (on Wi-Fi + 3G model

On Wi-Fi + 3G model

s, B&N Fast and Free Wireless
connections work. Features that require wireless connections
work.
On: For use on airplanes and in other settings where radio
transmissions are not allowed. Turns the radio off. On Wi-

s, both B&N Fast and Free Wireless
and Wi-Fi connections are off. The Shop is not accessible,
synchronizations do not occur, notices are not delivered to
The Daily, content cannot be downloaded to your

Wi-Fi
NOOK
(Wi-Fi + 3G model): On (default): Wi-Fi connectivity
is turned on. Your
NOOK
detects Wi-Fi hotspots and can
connect to them.
NOOK
(Wi-Fi + 3G model): Off: Wi-Fi connectivity is
turned off. Your
NOOK
does not detect or connect to Wi-Fi
hotspots.
For
NOOK
Wi-Fi, use Airplane mode to turn Wi-Fi on and
off.
Wi-Fi hotspot > Add Wi-Fi hotspot: Manually add a Wi-Fi
hotspot.
Wi-Fi hotspot > Hotspot names: The names of detected,
remembered, and configured hotspots are listed. You can
connect to and forget hotspots.
Display > Sleep timer
Time from last activity (touch screen or button presses) until
your
NOOK
sleeps. During sleep, a screensaver picture is
displayed on the main screen. The touch screen will already
be unlit. You can choose among 2, 5 (default), 10, 15, and 20
minutes.
Display > Screensaver
Choose a screensaver theme. Your
NOOK
comes with
the screensaver themes Authors, Nature, and Cityscape
preinstalled.
Display > Wallpaper
Choose a wallpaper image.
