This lamp must be handled with the appropriate care which is needed for short arc lamps! Han-
dling a hot lamp or handling a lamp without care considerably increases the risk of explosion!

Electrical shock hazard! Make sure to switch off and unplug the projector before starting any of
these procedures! Never remove any cover while the projector is on.

Description of the lamp
Description
The
lamp
which is used is a short arc
Osram VIP metal halide lamp
of 300W. The start pulse needed is 5kV. In running mode,
80–120V AC is used to feed the lamp. The tension depends on temperature, pressure and distance between anode and cathode
and is adjusted to guarantee a power of 300W.
