UNILUX-3 40 / 52 / 55 / 65
Directions for use and Installation Instructions
We recommend that you maintain a substantial layer of ash (2 - 3 cm). This not
only forms a protective layer for the base of the appliance but also signifi cantly
reduces consumption of fuel and allows new wood to catch light easier.
When loading the fi re with fuel, two blocks measuring 15 cm long and 30 cm
perimeter (Unilux-3 40), (35 cm perimeter (Unilux-3 52 and Unilux-3 65)), (40 cm
perimeter (Unilux-3 55)) is suffi cient. Do not add more fuel until the previous fuel
has burned down to the charcoal stage. This is after approximately 45 minutes.
The fl ames are then almost no longer visible. Do not leave the door open longer
than necessary.
If there is insuffi cient burning material in the fi rebed to light a new fuel charge,
excessive smoke emission can occur. Refuelling must be carried out onto a
suffi cient quantity of glowing embers and ash that the new fuel charge will ignite
in a reasonable period. If there are too few embers in the fi re bed, add suitable
kindling to prevent excessive smoke.
Weather conditions
In order to reduce pollution and any other inconvenience, we advise not fi ring up
the fi re when there is no wind, or in foggy/misty conditions.
Smoke development
Your fi re has been designed to be used with the load/observation door closed.
Should you use it with the door open, under certain circumstances (presence of
mechanical ventilation, draught, differences in barometric pressure) smoke may
enter the room in which the fi re is situated.
Use of the fi re
Your fi re is suitable for periodic use.
The fi re may only be positioned in a place where the location, construction and
activity in the room can accommodate it without danger.
Ventilation
When using the fi re, ensure a good supply of fresh air. After all, the combustion
air is taken from the room where the fi re is located. Turn on the fl ue gas fan if the
fl ue is fi tted with one.
Spare parts
Any replacement parts must be new, original parts. Use of non-original/
reconditioned parts will invalidate your warranty.
