7.2.3 Adjusting the direction of rotation

NOTICE!
Damage to the manual grinding wheel!
Changing the direction of rotation of the grinding wheel
when the motor is switched on can damage the instrument.
•
The direction of rotation of the grinding wheel must
only be changed when the motor is switched off.
Set the direction of rotation using the [direction of rotation switch] (Fig. 15).

Switch position on FWD: the grinding wheel turns in a
forwards run direction (‚upwards‘).
•
Switch position on REV: the grinding wheel turns in a
backwards run direction (‚downwards‘) (Fig. 15).
7.2.4 Switching the instrument on/off

Switch the [power switch] to - I - (Fig. 16). The grinding wheel rotates.

To switch the instrument off, switch the [power switch]
to - 0 - (Fig. 16).
In the case of the hand grinding stone 2928 10, the indicator light on the housing lights
up. The stone is equipped with a sensor to „START“ and „STOP“ the grinding wheel.
7.2.5 Grinding ophthalmic lenses
WARNING
WARNING!
Trapping hazard due to rotating grinding wheel!
Long hair, loose clothing or jewellery may be trapped in
the rotating grinding wheel thus causing serious injuries.
•
When working with the instrument always wear
clothing that tears easily and never wear ties, bandan-
nas or scarves.
•
Always remove jewellery when working with the
instrument and tie long hair back.
