1.
Put the control handle in the off position.
2.
Make sure to have the fl ow controls opened all the way.
3. Install a pressure gauge into the Top Feedwheel Gauge Port (G1).
4.
Take the cap off of the Top Feedwheel Needle Valve (NV1).
5.
Tighten the cap screw all the way to stop hydraulic oil from fl owing in the top feedwheel.
6.
Pressure gauge should read maximum specifi ed PSI (bar).
ONLY BOTTOM OUT NV1 OR NV2 FOR THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES TO SET THE
PRESSURE. DO NOT BOTTOM THEM BOTH OUT AT THE SAME TIME OR YOU MAY DAMAGE
HYDRAULICS.
7. Adjust the pressure by removing the cap from the Top Feedwheel Motor Relief (RV1) and tightening or
loosening the relief.
8.
Loosen the cap screw all the way on the Top Feedwheel Needle Valve (NV1) to allow hydraulic oil to fl ow
into the top feedwheel motor.
9. Reinstall both caps on the Top Feedwheel Needle Valve (NV1) and the Top Feedwheel Motor Relief
(RV1).
10. Repeat steps 1 through 9 for the Bottom Feedwheel Needle Valve (NV2) and the Bottom Feedwheel
Motor Relief (RV5). Install the pressure gauge into the Bottom Feedwheel Gauge Port (G3).
Before attempting any hydraulic pressure settings, make sure the hydraulic oil is clean, hydraulic tank is 3/4 to
7/8 full, and the machine has been pre-run to warm the hydraulic oil. To correctly check relief valve pressure,
gauge MUST be installed correctly.
WARNING
!
ADJUSTING THE FEEDWHEEL RELIEFS
ADJUSTING THE FLOW CONTROLS
1. The number of turns the adjustment knobs need to slow the feedwheels down will vary depending on the
machine model and engine options.
2.
Start by turning the fl ow control adjustment knobs clockwise all the way.
3. Then turn the adjustment knobs counter-clockwise to the desired feedwheel speed. Five full revolutions
counter‑clockwise will have the fl ow controls open all the way.
4. Make sure both adjustment knobs are turned the same amount of times to keep the feedwheels running
the same feeding speed. If the feedwheels are diff erent diameter sizes, they will run at diff erent speeds.
