Combustion Air Intake
Pipe Intake pipe and inlet m u st be intact. Look for obstr u ctions, cracks on the pipe,
gaps in the sealed areas or corrosion.
The area m u st be free of dirt and d u st.
Clean and reinstall as req u ired.
See Page 19, Section 8
Heat Exchan g er Make s u re there are no cracks.
Make s u re there is no sagging, bending or distortion.
Clean or replace as req u ired.
Gas Line and Shut-off
Valves Check for gas leaks.
See Page 20, Section 9 .
Burner Observation
Window Make s u re it is clean and free of cracks or holes.
Clean and replace as req u ired.
Flue Blower Scroll, Wheel
and Motor Compressed air or a vac uu m cleaner may be u sed to clean d u st and dirt.
Inshot Burners and
Orifices Clear obstr u ctions (even spider w ebs w ill ca u se problems).
Caref u lly remove any d u st and debris from the b u rner.
Direct-Spark I g niter Replace if there are cracked ceramics, excessive carbon resid u e, or erosion
of the electrode.
The electrode gap sho u ld be 1/8" (3.2 mm).
Thermostat There sho u ld be no exposed w ire or damage to the device or w iring.
See Page 22, Section 10 .
Suspension Points Make s u re the heater is hanging sec u rely.
Look for signs of w ear on the s u spension materials or ceiling.
See Page 10, Figure 5 .
Silicone Tubin g Ens u re tight, sec u re fit on all press u re fittings at press u re s w itch,
b u rner partition, and blo w er o u tlet.
Gas Valve V erify that cap covering press u re reg u lator adj u stment scre w is sec u re and
has not been tampered w ith.
V erify all w iring connections.
Condensate Drain
(when installed) Fl u sh drain and clear any obstr u ctions.
Ductwork Cons u lt an indoor air q u ality professional for proper cleaning proced u res.
Air Circulation Blower For a complete inspection, refer to the man u fact u rers installation, operation
and service man u al.
