•

Route the charger cable so that it does not come into contact with hot or sharp-
edged objects and so that no one can trip over it! Do not bend it, place heavy ob-
jects on it or wrap it around the appliance. Do not let the mains cable hang down
over the edge of the work surface.

•

The battery must not come into contact with heat, fire or dirt.

•

Only use the charger, charger cable and accessories supplied
with the appliance. The appliance may only be operated with
genuine parts and accessories.

•

Only work with the hand blender when it is in a receptacle with a flat bottom.

• Improper handling of electricity can have fatal consequences!
•

Never bring the live parts into contact with water.

•

Never immerse the complete hand blender, the battery, the charger or the charg-
er cable in water or other liquids.

•

Never expose the appliance to rain or other intense moisture.
If the charger (with or without the hand blender) does fall into
water, first unplug the charger cable from the socket with
dry hands and then remove the appliance from the water.
Remove the battery pack from the blender handle and have
the entire appliance checked by an authorised service point
before using it again.

•

Do not operate the appliance with wet hands. Do not use it when it is damp or wet
or when you are standing on damp ground.

•   The hand blender and the charger must not be cleaned in the dishwasher.

•

To switch off the blender completely in the event of a mal-
function, you can pull out the battery pack by pressing the
two release flaps (on the left and right of the handle top) at
the same time. This requires some force. The appliance is
now without power. By putting the battery back in again, you
can repeat the switch-on procedure. This procedure must
also be carried out when changing the battery (at the end of
the battery life). Please follow the instructions in the chap-
ters “Changing of the battery” (page 30) and “Disposal of
the battery” (page 30).

•

In the event of a charger malfunction, always unplug the charger cable from the
socket. Always pull on the plug and not on the cable.

•

In the event of damage to parts of the appliance, stop operation immediately in
order to avoid hazards. Have the complete appliance checked by an authorised
service point before putting it back into operation.

•

If the mains adapter or the charger is damaged, the charger must be replaced with
a genuine charger, which can be obtained from the manufacturer or its national
customer service. See “Service, repairs and spare parts” (page 31).

•

Food can splash during processing. Therefore, let hot food cool down before pro-
cessing to avoid scalding.

•   Take the saucepan off the heat when using the hand blender in the saucepan.

Explosion hazard!
Protect the battery from heat and fire. Do not operate the appliance in
spaces with explosive or flammable substances or liquids.

Location of the hand blender

Choose a dry location with enough working space for the hand blender and make
sure that it is out of the reach of children. Make sure that nothing can fall on the ap-
pliance and that the appliance itself cannot fall down. Never place the appliance near
devices that radiate heat, such as ovens, gas cookers, hotplates, etc.

Description of functions

The battery-powered hand blender can be used to chop, mince, purée, whip, fluff,
stir, mix or cut solid and liquid foods.
