Slide/Slide Rail - Guided Magnetic Linear Encoder System
Intended use
A linear encoder system is composed of a slide combined
with a sensor head (e.g. BML-S1F1-...) and a slide rail with
magnetic tape. The system is installed on a flat surface in a
machine or installation and connected to the moving
machine part by a guide arm. Flawless function in
accordance with the specifications in the technical data is
ensured only when using original BALLUFF accessories.
Use of any other components will void the warranty.
The information in these instructions must be observed,
particularly information related to installation. Improper use
will result in the loss of warranty and liability claims against
the manufacturer.

Construction and function
The slide, in which the sensor head is mounted, is
connected via a guide arm to the machine part whose travel
is to be measured.
The slide is guided along the slide rail. During this process,
the sensor head measures the travel.
General safety notes
Installation
and
startup
may only be performed by
trained specialists.
The
operator
is responsible for ensuring that local safety
regulations are observed. In particular, the operator must
take steps to ensure that a defect in the linear encoder
system will not result in hazards to persons or equipment.
If defects and unresolvable faults occur in the system, take
it out of service and secure against unauthorized use.
