DEPTH of BEND SETTING
The Depth Stop Blocks will allow for the press to be
setup quickly to a previously measured setting which
in turn will provide repeatable results. NOTE: Due to
material variation (batch lots) it may not be exact.
1. Record the Material Thickness in the box under
Material Thickness.
2. Set the press to the desired V-Die Width. In
general, the V-die width should be 8
– 10 times the
material thickness.
3. Make a test bend on a sample piece of the exact
same material.
4. Measure the distance from the top of the depth
setting blocks to the top of the die. Be sure to
measure next to each adjustment screw and set
them to all be the same measurement.
5. This measurement is the depth that the punch
travels into the die V.
6. Once the depth blocks have been set, insert a
block (A) on each end of the bending table (right
side shown) to become stop limits.
7. Adjust the depth stop (B) to allow the punch to
travel down to the stop blocks if needed. The depth
stop may be adjusted to become the active stop
once the stop blocks have been set. This will be a
test and adjust technique used by the operator.
