Booster Car Seat (Without Built-in

Harness) Installation and Use

 WARNING!

DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur:

  • If child will not keep vehicle shoulder belt properly positioned

on shoulder, DO NOT use this Booster Car Seat. Use a

    different child restraint system.

  • Do not allow child to slide down in High-back Booster Car

Seat which could position vehicle lap belt across child’s

abdomen and shoulder belt over neck or face.

  • Do not use Body Insert in Booster use mode.

8.1   High-back Booster Car Seat (

WITHOUT

 Built-in

      Harness) Installation and Use

 WARNING!

   • Child must be at least 4 years old and weigh at least 40 lbs.

(18.1 kg) to use the High-back Booster Car Seat.

  • Do not route vehicle shoulder belt through Toddler Shoulder

Belt Guide when using Booster use mode.

  • Use Toddler Car Seat

WITH

 Harness as long as possible

before changing to High-back Booster mode.

  • Shoulder belt must slide freely in the inner slot of Booster

Shoulder Belt Guide in Head Support.

NOTE: LATCH or Top Tether may be used to secure the High-back

Booster Car Seat in position. Securing the High-back Booster

Car Seat in the vehicle can make it easier for a child to get in

and out of the High-back Booster Car Seat (see, Section 7.3.1).

To secure car seat and your child:

1. Assemble the Back Support (see “Assembly and Removal of Back

Support” section).

2. Remove harness system (see “Harness Removal and Assembly”

section).

3. Tuck harness adjuster belt up under front of seat base.
4.  Place the car seat on the vehicle seat in a

seating location equiped with a vehicle

  Lap/Shoulder belt and centered between

  the Lap/Shoulder belt anchorages (see

“Selecting a Vehicle Seating Locations” section).

 WARNING!

   • Do not place the High-back Booster

Car Seat in a seating position that
