SECURING THE CHILD IN THE RESTRAINT
4 Pull all of the slack out from around
the waist
.
Pull up on the harness while
pushing the chest clip down
.
Do this on
both sides
.
5 Slowly pull harness adjuster strap to
make the shoulder straps snug around
the child’s shoulders
.
Be careful not to
allow the chest clip to slide up into their
neck when tightening
.
Make sure the
straps are flat, not twisted, and snug
.
6 Raise the chest clip to child’s armpit
level.
7 If you can pinch a fold in the strap, it
is not snug and should be tightened
further
.
A snug harness should not allow any
slack
.
It lies in a relatively straight line
without sagging
.
It does not press on
the child’s flesh or push the child’s body
into an unnatural position
.
