With 25˚ degrees set on the jig the measurement between the face of the abrasive and
the inner face of the side bar should be 25mm clearence.
Place your chisel with the bevel face up in the Honing Guide Assemby, code 105281 and
adjust the chisel so it projects 25mm out from the Honing Guide using the ultimate edge
projection gauge and clamp the chisel in place. Note: 25mm projection is used for all
angles.
Using a digital leveling box check the compound jig bar is perpendicular to the linisher.
Place the leveling box onto the bar, it should read ‘ZERO’ on the display. If adjustment is
required, lightly loosen the four Hex screws and adjust the compound jig until the ‘Bar’ is
in line with the linisher Nip up the Hex screws to secure the jig.

Setting the Clearence of the Platen to the Bar
Note Make sure that the
diameter of the squares
handle or similar is the
same distance. This
ensures the bar will be
accurately set.
Place a square or similar down between the bar and platen and clamp the jig in place.
Check the distance is the same across the bar and platen. To adjust, first place the
square to the far right and turn grub screws (B-D) in a clockwise direction to move the
bar forward. Ajust until correct. Now move to the square to far left and adjust screws (A-C)
until the bar is at the correct diatance.
