Getting Started – Ubuntu
1 Introduction
SAN = Storage Area Network
DAS = Direct Attached Storage
NFS = Network File System
1.5 Network setup
The AVHS system is designed for use on TCP/IP networks. The standard recommended system setup uses public IP addresses for the
ST servers. Installation is also possible behind a NAT router.
1.6 Configure HAProxy
This guide does not include an instruction for setting up HAProxy balancer and service router. Examples for configuring HAProxy can
be found in the AVHS distribution file under the examples directory. The haproxy-service-router-example.conf file contains rules for
the service router and the haproxy-balancer-example.conf contains rules for the balancer.
Important
A production system requires both the balancer and service router to be fully functional.
If the service router is missing the following features will not work for all clients.
•
The device proxy API (proxy_url will work, url will not)
•
The Access device link in the classic GUI.
If the service router is missing the following features will not work for clients behind a corporate proxy or firewall.
•
RTSP Live and playback from SD-card or Edge-storage.
•
RTMP Live and playback from SD-card or Edge-storage.
•
HTTP (MJPEG) Live.
•
Server reports from the admin GUI.
•
Two way audio.
•
PTZ joystick from the new GUI.
•
Motion detection preview image in the classic GUI.
•
Image preview for AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) configuration in the classic GUI.
